Despite its many critics, C++ is still a choice language for development projects that require peak performance. With development of the language still going strong, recent updates have improved its security features and support for modern technologies and methods.
Regardless of the many attempts to dethrone it, C++ remains one of the most performant and versatile languages in circulation. As Bjarne Stroustrup famously said: “There are only two kinds of languages: the ones people complain about and the ones nobody uses”. While there is mounting pressure from new languages such as Rust, Go and Swift, C++ will be around for years to come.
